Message of Thanks

The organising committee would like to thank all who contributed to making the IVR World Congress 2019 such a resounding success.

Our leading aims with the congress were (i) to encourage open discussion and debate on vital questions relating to contemporary issues of dignity, democracy and diversity, and (ii) to provide a welcoming forum for established and younger scholars from all over the globe to meet and exchange views. On both fronts, we were pleased with the outcome, and hope that others felt the same.

To the attendees, we thank you for taking the time to join us in Lucerne and for approaching the congress with such interest and intellectual openness. It was a pleasure to meet you all.

We also thank our partners at the KKL, the Swiss Museum of Transport and Bucher Travel for being so attentive to our wishes, and our various sponsors for their generous support – without which the congress would not have been feasible.

Lastly, we would like to place on record our gratitude to all those at the University of Lucerne who worked so tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of events. This includes the superb blue-badged team of helpers, led by Monika Guggenbühl, Dario Haux and Fabienne Graf, who we thank for their dedication, engagement and positivity.

Thank you again to all, and we look forward to the next congress in two years’ time.
